Abby Fights Leukemia
Donation protected
My 30-year-old sister Abby was recently diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). After leaving her job teaching high school ESL in central Pennsylvania, Abby was ready to embark on an adventure across the country, moving to California with her boyfriend and two pups.
While waiting for a car issue to be resolved while staying at my parent's place in Pittsburgh, Abby experienced visual blackouts in one eye multiple times. After the third instance, she went to Ohio Valley hospital and received the unfortunate news that she had leukemia. Abby was transferred the next day to the dedicated cancer wing of a different hospital to begin treatment immediately.
With Abby unemployed because she was in the middle of a move, her employer insurance expires at the end of August. We hope to find good enough insurance to defer most of the costs, but there is still significant uncertainty when it comes to the financial impact this will have. Even a tiny percentage of the tremendous cost of cancer treatment could be detrimental.
Please consider contributing to Abby's fight against leukemia so she can focus her energy on fighting this and getting healthy.
