National STEM Summer Program
My name is Abby and I am a freshman at Sam Houston High School in Louisiana. I am on student council, swim team, marching band, and was nominated to attend the Literary Rally this year for Civics. I have also worked very hard to maintain a 3.8 GPA.
I recently received a letter from The National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists , inviting me to accept my nomination for academic recognition of excellence as a Delegate representing my high school and state this June in Boston, Massachusetts at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders .
At the Congress, I will come face to face with deans from the world's top universities, Nobel Prize winners, world leaders in science, our nation's most innovative and successful technolgists, and award-winning young inventors and scientists . Going to this event will be one of the best experiences I've ever had and will enrich my academic profile when I apply to colleges and universities. I will also have the opportunity to receive one transferable college credit upon satisfactory completion of the Congress and additional course work through an academic partnership with Washington Adventist University.
I feel amazingly honored to be invited to participate in this program, and with your support I can get one step closer to my dream of becoming an Engineer.
Your donations will go directly to pay for the Program Fee (~$1,000) as well as travel and accommodation for me and one chaperone. Any funds left over will go towards an additional summer residential program I am interested in - the LeadershipU program at LSU.
Thanks so much for your time in reading this. Every dollar helps and I thank you for your support from the bottom of my heart.
