Abby’s Medical Bills and Treatment

My neice Abigail she has just turned 17 years old and they need our help. Her mom has been trying for years to help her with these rare chronic/ genetic conditions, she has traveled all over trying to help Abby. Abby was diagnosed with 6 years ago RSD reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Recently she has also been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Schaaf-yang syndrome/ Magel 2 & CPT2 a spinoff gene with many unknowns as it is newly just discovered, there is no cure just symptomatic care, she needs to undergo more testing at chop, and in Pittsburgh, and UDN for more genetic testing. She suffers from severe migraines and pain, she has multiple hospital admissions already this year, weeks each time to chop, geisinger Danville, multiple hospital trips all over and doctors, therapy appointments 3 to 4x's a week, tons of tests one after another. She's spent two weeks in hospital already

this month. She had major surgery in March and needed weeks of recovery, my sister has to arrange for someone to sit with her and help take care of her so she can continue to work, to take care of Abby. She needs to continue treatment options outside of Pa currently, she is being seen at Johns Hopkins, Children's national D.C., Geisinger Danville, and Ai Dupont and Mayo clinic , hopefully we are able to travel to Texas children's hospital in the near future to see the Dr who specializes in her genetic condition. She will be going to the undiagnosed Network to hopefully be able to help pinpoint more genetic conditions that will help treat her. We are hoping to try pain infusions to help get this pain under control & Growth recomibent therapy through children hospital. There is very little to no insurance coverage and it's extremely expensive. Paying cash for travel, Lodging, food and

alot of treatments, braces, mobility devices , and medications that are not covered by her insurance especially outside of PA, the bills are piling up. We are hoping with treatments she may be able to not suffer anymore and hopefully one day can go back to school and feel better to enjoy things more.
