BISMILLAH AR-RAHMAN AR-RAHEEM
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. "Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return."
I first met Samatar Sahal in 2013 when I joined the Local92 union. He was my first foreman and mentored with Cassman Construction at the Suncor base plant. He was a foreman there for eight years.
Samatar taught me about the value of hard work and more importantly, the importance of family through his actions. He often advised me to get married and the joy a family would bring.
Samatar died tragically on Tuesday, October 28, 2020, in an accident while working on the Trans Mountain pipeline.
He was struck by a piece of equipment and killed.
Hearing the tragic news of Samatar death, my thoughts immediately went to his wife and his kids. Samatar leaves behind a wife, and four young children - including a two-month-old newborn.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Save yourself from hellfire by giving even half a date-fruit in charity." – Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Hadith 498
I humbly ask anyone who can donate any amount to please provide what they can.
May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and forgive him for his sins. I ask you to make dua for this family so that Allah may grant the sabr during this difficult time.
The money raised will go towards funeral expenses and assist his family in their time of need.
For more information. Please contact Aden Abdi, at [phone redacted]
*Sam's family is overwhelmed by the love and support he has received over the past few days from friends, co-workers and family. It is truly a testament to the life he lived. The support you have provided will go a long way to provide for them as they grieve. May God bless every one of you.
Thank you.
