Our hearts are heavy with grief due to the tragic loss of Abdishakur Abdi-Dahir and Said Mohamed Ali at a wedding celebration over the weekend. Their untimely deaths have deeply shaken our community.

Abdishakur Abdi-Dahir was a beloved son, brother, friend, and soul cherished by all in our community. He was a student of knowledge and we ask Allah to forgive him.

Said Mohamed Ali, who recently embarked on a new journey in Canada from Somalia, tragically met his end in this devastating shooting incident. We ask Allah to forgive him as well.

We are initiating a fundraising effort for a water well in memory of both brothers, hoping that this charitable endeavor will bring blessings upon both our brothers. You are encouraged to contribute whatever you can, and may Allah reward your generosity. Remember that nothing given in charity is lost, it is only multiplied by Allah SWT.

Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”

All donations will be paid out to Abdihamid Abdi-Dahir (Abdishakur’s brother) and Aden Elmi (Said’s brother)
