Help Wasi Safi – Afghan Special Forces Commando

Donation protected
I am Sami Safi, Abdul's brother who served alongside him and US Special forces in Afghanistan. I have since relocated to the United States and have full US citizenship. My brother served with the US forces admirably and I am trying to help him get out of immigration detention and on a path to citizenship for the country he fought and risked his life for.

When President Biden withdrew American forces from Afghanistan, he pledged to leave no person behind. But many of those who risked their lives supporting American forces in the fight against the Taliban were abandoned. Abdul Wasi Safi was one of those forgotten and discarded. For a decade, Adbul and his brother Sam worked with American Special Forces. Sam managed to escape but Abdul was left behind. Once the US last plane left Kabul, Abdul was hunted by the Taliban and forced to escape the country.

Facing death, Abdul made his way out of Afghanistan. He managed to get to South America where he began his trek to be reunited with his brother. Walking across Central America, he was assaulted and beaten. His teeth were knocked out. Injured but not deterred, he made his way to the Mexico-Texas border where he crossed with a large group of migrants. Everyone in his group was released. Despite a legitimate asylum claim, Abdul was detained, arrested, and prosecuted. Abdul is at the Eden Detention Center and has charges pressed against him for crossing the border. If he is found guilty, he will be returned to Afghanistan and will be executed.

We need assistance to pay for a lawyer to represent him. We also want to bring attention of his case to legislators and the White House. Can you please donate to support Adbul and his quest for freedom?

More about his case can be found at:

All funds raised will go to either my brother's legal team or to pay for his medical expenses and support. He has suffered great physical injury throughout his journey to the United States and his medical care needs are extensive. As he is not yet a citizen of this country he is unable to access funds through government resources and everything will have to be privately funded.
