Abel’s family members will be sharing their thoughts of him when they are able but in the meantime I wanted to share why our family created this fundraiser.

My daughter, husband and I were out when my older son called me to let me know the house was on fire. You can imagine our alarm as we jumped out of our seats, dashed towards our car and drove silently home.

We didn’t know what to expect and as we inched closer to our street …we couldn’t believe how many fire engines had packed into our  street …and how many firefighters were trying to put out our stubborn house fire. Firefighters from multiple cities had come to save our home.

i found my son staring at our burning home and asked him what had happened. Abel and a few others had finished up their work for the day on our sunroom on and were disposing of material when they noticed smoke coming from our attic.

My son was oblivious to what was going on when the men knocked on the door to ask him about the smoke…Abel and his brother Saul went into our house to investigate and  found the fire coming from our attic. They told my son to get out and call 911.

Abel tried to put out the small fire but in seconds it engulfed him.

Thankfully, Abel was able to escape but he was covered with burns all over his body. He was quickly transported to the hospital.

He is in critical condition, His body is covered in 60% burns and he continues to be sedated. He saved my son’s life and did everything in his power to help save our home.

All those who know Abel aren’t surprised by his actions to do all he could to help in anyway he could.

We’ve known Abel for years. He is a man who always puts the needs of others first, someone who has consistently cared for his loved ones with a smile on his face. He is a man of integrity who brightens any room he walks into and shares any skill and God given talent with others generously. He will do all he can to meet the needs of others.

We want to encourage him now and bless him with our gifts in his time of need.

The journey ahead will be long and extremely difficult for him but we want him to know we support him and we’re here for him.

Our family has been overwhelmed by the love and support from our community and friends/family and we’re so grateful.

Honestly, the house loss hasn’t affected our family and kids much by Gods grace because we know our true home is with God and possessions are temporary and His blessings truly continue to flow upon us so amazingly and generously.

Our kids have grateful hearts and memories of our home but have no doubt they will have just as special memories in another home in the future. All of us know that this story could be so different if it weren’t for Abel and Saul’s intervention at just the right time.

Thank you for all your love. We get asked often if you can provide anything for our family and we’re sincerely well and supporting Abel would bless us exceedingly.

Thank you to all the firefighters and neighbors who fought to save our home and possessions. A few firefighters were also sadly injured and burned but I heard are recovering well.

It felt like a dozen fire engines had come from so many cities in our time of need. Thank you so very much for your dedication to serving the community so selflessly. You are also our heroes.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Please feel free to share this on any platform with anyone you know!
