Abigail’s RMHC Japan Fundraising Page

On March 3, 2024, I will represent Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Japan at the 2024 Tokyo Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC since 2017, I am again training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Did you know RMHC helps millions of families each year? RMHC helps families cope better and focus on the needs of their sick child, allowing them the ability to spend more time with their child, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their child’s care.
Throughout my life, I have had access to world-class healthcare, and I was always within a commutable distance. In fact, in May 2023, I had a major surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital that may have saved my life. The Ronald McDonald House nearby provides a place to stay for sick children and their families, and it is just one of over 380 RMH programs worldwide.
RMHC help makes it possible for families with ill and injured children to access vital healthcare services by saving families over $504 million in out-of-pocket expenses, predominantly in meals and lodging. Every dollar you donate to my running journey can help make it possible for a family to receive a free meal or night stay at a RMHC program somewhere in the world. It costs approximately $100 to give a family one night of comfort and support. More importantly, every dollar raised allows families to stay close to what they need most — each other.
RMHC love,
Abigail

Please note that unlike the charity programs for the other World Major Marathons, the Tokyo Marathon does not provide official fundraising pages. However, all money raised will be donated to RMHC Japan.
