Abigail’s A Fighter
On Thursday Jordain received a call from her daughter’s daycare to pick up her daughter Abigail (2 years old) because she was saying ow ow and would not bare her own weight on her legs. By the time she got there her daughter could not stand up and was crumpled over, she rushed her to Emergency immediately where she rapidly began to lose function of the rest of her body and her own breathing. She was put on a ventilator, sedated, and given antibiotics and steroids. She tested negative for Covid 19.
She was told her daughter has inflammation in the spine called Transverse Myelitis a rare inflammatory disease. The cause is commonly unknown and can be caused from auto immune or an infection but we are awaiting to hear more information. We do not know what this means for Abigails future and how it may affect her as symptoms vary. We do know she will be on a ventilator for many weeks and in hospital for many months.
I want to explain why this fund raiser is so important and about Jordain, Abigails mom. She is one of the most caring and selfless people I know, she’s a single mom and Abbys father is not in the picture and does not support them financially. She works at the Foundry helping troubled youth and is a dear friend to my daughter and I. She needs help so she can continue to be by her daughters side during these troubling and uncertain times and to have her mom there to support them.
They need help immediately with time off work as a single parent, flights, medical costs and for any future medication or equipment they may need for Abby on her journey and road to recover. I want to help them by raising money and sharing their story to help take some of the stress away from them so they can just be there for Abby.
Abigail is a caring spitfire to anyone who has been blessed to meet her and we know she will get through this with our help, love, and support!
