Help Abla’s Search for Hope in Gaza

Story

Update: (July 14, 2025): Hello! If you've seen this campaign before you may recall that the initial goal for this campaign was $41,000. This was our fundraising goal calculated in late Autumn of 2024 to cover Ablaa's family's needs for the next 6 months. In Spring of 2025, with the help of Funds For Gaza, this goal was reached. Right as we reached this goal, Ablaa announced her pregnancy. After some planning, we have since decided to continue using this campaign to cover necessary costs for the next 6 months once again. Especially Ablaa's pregnancy needs! That is why the goal has been raised from $75,600 to $116,600. Thank you all who have donated and/or shared this campaign. Ablaa and her family have expressed nothing but gratitude for you all. ---end of update--- Hello! If you've reached this page is likely you've been reached by Ablaa Alaghwani through social media. Since 2024 I have been organizing this campaign with Ablaa and two other organizers named Natasha Cininas and Alex Antunes from Australia. If you have any questions about the fundraiser please feel free to reach out to me by either messaging me through GoFundMe and I will email you back as soon as I can. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My name is Saige Stittsworth and I am from Olympia, WA, USA. I have created this campaign on behalf of my friend Ablaa and her family who currently reside in Gaza. I met Ablaa in the spring of 2024 when she reached out to me on Instagram with a request to set up this campaign for her. This is Abla's family. Her full family unit consists of ten people (five adults and five children), and one child on the way (as of Spring 2025). Barely surviving in Gaza. Abla and her family were forced to flee their home towards the beginning of the war, seeking shelter in cramped tents. They're all currently at the mercy of the elements, contamination, injury, and disease, with no reliable sources of food, water, or medicine. The makeshift kitchen Ablaa and her family use to cook View from inside of the tent where Ablaa's family resides Your donations will go toward helping Ablaa's vulnerable family members, including: Ablaa herself, who is pregnant and battling malnutrition and high blood pressure. The $10,000 pregnancy fund will help cover extra vitamins and medicines A father-in-law battling debilitating chronic illnesses. A sister-in-law suffering from cerebral palsy, enduring constant pain and unable to access treatment. Two young children, one in need of clean diapers (and a baby on the way) And six more family members. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HOW DOES ABLAA RECEIVE THE FUNDS: Your donations are directly transferred to a secondary bank account under my name that is used solely for monitoring and accumulating Ablaa's funds. When we reach a short-term transfer goal, I transfer the money to one of two other organizers (Natasha C. or Alex A.) and they send a direct wire transfer to one of Ablaa's neighbors named Mohammed, who has an open account under Bank of Palestine. When Ablaa provides the screenshot receipt of the wire transfer on her behalf, Ablaa's brother Yacoub will send her the allocated funds. Historically we transferred funds to other individuals, such as Ameer Altorok and Mohammed. This has changed as a result of access changes to bank accounts. ------------------------------------------------------------------ COST DETAILS (CALCULATED JULY 2025): To survive the next six months in Gaza, Ablaa's family will need another $75,600 USD, pushing the the campaign goal to $116,600 (previous goal: $41,000) Food and water: $14,000 Hygiene: $2,400 Electricity: $540 Medicine for the family: $900 Transportation: $50 Baby needs: $1,000 Pregnancy fund (vitamins, medicine for Ablaa, appointments, etc): $10,000 Emergency fund: $4,500 Clothes: $700 Miscellaneous resources: $11,520 Transfer fees (GoFundMe and International transfer combined: $27,500 (insanely high!!) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Currently all funds go towards fulfilling these immediate needs while we wait for evacuation, as it is currently not feasible. Thank you all again who have donated, shared, or intend to donate. If you have any questions or need clarification, please reach out through GoFundMe and I will email you as soon as I can. I can redirect you to the other organizers if needed. Thank you again for your time!
