4 x Vail Williams take on the ABP Southampton Run

On Sunday 2nd April Leanne Conroy, Mary Pearson, Hannah Bennett and David Ramsay of Vail Williams will be be running around the paths of Southampton raising money for “Sophie’s Legacy”.

Sophie’s Legacy is in memory of a remarkable young local girl, who at the age of 10 heartbreakingly lost her life to cancer. During her treatment Sophie was determined to make changes, such as play specialists in hospitals 7 days a week instead of just week days, improvements to food for children in hospital, for parents to be fed when staying with their children and probably most significantly – for GP’s nurses and health professionals to be highly trained in identifying childhood cancer and to increase funds which go towards childhood cancer research as, shockingly, only 3% of all cancer funds go towards this. Sophie’s dedicated parents set up Sophie’s Legacy to honour her wishes and implement these changes, the latter going all the way to Parliament.
