It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Abraham Yonathan Scarcelli (z"l), a beloved member of our Jewish community in Brussels, on Thursday, October 17th, coinciding with the first day of Sukkot (15 Tishrei).

Abraham Yonathan dedicated his life to the well-being of our community, serving with devotion and love, especially through his work at the Ganenou school, where he touched countless lives. His final wish was to be buried in Eretz Israel, the land he always considered sacred. Unfortunately, his family, some of whom live in Antwerp, does not have the financial means to fulfill this important wish.

The costs of repatriation, burial, and those related to the shiva are substantial, and the family is facing financial challenges during this difficult time. We humbly reach out to the community to ask for your support. Any contribution, big or small, will be of great help in ensuring that Abraham Yonathan receives the honor of burial in Israel, according to his wishes.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and solidarity during this difficult period. May Hashem bless you for your kindness, and may his soul be elevated in merit.

En mémoire d'Abraham Yonathan Scarcelli

C'est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Abraham Yonathan Scarcelli (z"l), un membre très apprécié de notre communauté juive de Bruxelles, survenu ce jeudi 17 octobre, lors du premier jour de Souccot (15 Tichri).

Abraham Yonathan a consacré sa vie au bien-être de notre communauté, en servant avec dévouement et amour, notamment à travers son travail à l'école Ganenou, où il a touché de nombreuses vies. Son dernier souhait était d'être enterré en Eretz Israël, sur la terre qu'il considérait toujours comme sacrée. Malheureusement, sa famille, dont certains enfants vivent à Anvers, ne dispose pas des moyens financiers nécessaires pour accomplir ce souhait si important.

Les frais de rapatriement, d'enterrement et ceux liés à la shivá sont élevés, et la famille fait face à des difficultés financières en ce moment si délicat. Nous nous adressons humblement à toute la communauté pour demander votre soutien. Toute contribution, grande ou petite, sera d'une grande aide pour assurer qu'Abraham Yonathan puisse recevoir les honneurs d'un enterrement en Israël, conformément à ses vœux et la loi juive.

Nous vous remercions de tout cœur pour votre générosité et votre solidarité en cette période difficile. Que Hachem vous bénisse pour votre bonté et que son âme soit élevée en mérite.
