Abuelita Josefina necesita un marcapasos

Actualmente la abuelita Josefina se encuentra en Venezuela, donde el gasto de alimentos, transporte e insumos médicos se hace casi imposible, cada vez la inflación consume lo poco o mucho que se pueda tener. La mayoría de su familia se encuentra en el extranjero y han sido su apoyo durante todo este tiempo para compra de comida y medicinas, pero a raíz de la pandemia algunos han quedado desempleados, haciendo más difícil la situación.

Quienes tenemos la dicha de conocerla sabemos lo fuerte y valiente que es. Ella es muy gentil, siempre está dispuesta a ayudar y hacerte sentir en casa con esa sazón que la caracteriza en sus comidas. Educó a sus 6 hijos y a sus hermanos menores los sacó adelante con mucha fuerza y nobleza. La abuela tiene un corazón enorme lleno de bondad que ahora necesita de tu ayuda para mantenerla más tiempo en nuestras vidas.

Hace 10 años fue operada a corazón abierto por un reemplazo valvular aórtico de la cual salió victoriosa, pero ha ido decayendo su salud manifestándose hipertensión arterial, enfermedad del nodo sinoauricular y predomina una estenosis severa, por lo que sufre de desmayos y malestares sin previo aviso. Todo ello puede mejorar colocando un marcapasos bicameral. Ayúdanos a darle esta segunda oportunidad a la abuela y que su vejez esté llena de la plenitud de tener un corazón que funcione sanamente, para que continúe iluminándonos la vida con sus ocurrencias y cariño como siempre lo ha hecho.

To this day, Grandma Josefina resides in Venezuela, where the economic inflation makes getting food and medical supplies harder every day, The majority of her family are living in different parts of the world, and to this day they have been Grandma’s main support, helping with her food and medical supplies. But given the current situation worldwide, with the pandemic, some of them were laid off from their works, aggravating the situation even further.

Those of us who have the joy of knowing her can testify of her strength and courage. She’s a very kind person, always willing to help you and to make you feel like home with the taste of one of her home made meals. She raised 6 children, and she pulled through her younger siblings by force of her strength and nobility. Grandma has a huge heart, filled with kindness, and now she needs your kindness in order to keep her in our lives for a while longer. 

Ten years ago, Grandma had an open heart surgery, having an aortic valve replacement, wich turned out to be a success. Nevertheless, her well being is decaying, manifesting through hypertension, sinoatrial node dysfunction, and a severe stenosis. As a consequence, Grandma suffers from faints without notice, and general discomfort throughout the day. All this can change if we can get a double chamber pacemaker for Grandma. Help us to give her a second chance to our Grandma, and to make sure her last years are filled with the wellbeing of having a heart that is working properly, and in order for her to continue to shine in our lives with her stories and unconditional love, as she always has.
