Abuha - Horrordrama Abschlussfilm

Hallo :) Wir sind größtenteils Studierende und Absolvierende des Film Studiengangs “Screen Based Media” der Berliner Hochschule für Technik. Mit Herzblut und großem Spaß arbeiten wir seit Anfang 2022 neben Studium und der Arbeit an dem 90-Minüter Abuha und freuen uns bereits auf die Fertigstellung des Films.

Aktuell haben wir knapp über der Hälfte im Kasten und würden gerne diesen Sommer fertig werden. Unser Ziel ist es, einen kinoreifen Abschlussfilm zu drehen, der qualitativ auch bei Festivals überzeugen kann. Zudem streben wir eine neue Art des Horrorfilms an, der gesellschaftskritische Themen anspricht.

Mit dem Projekt möchten wir ebenso zeigen, dass man mit wenigen Mitteln viel erreichen kann. So wurde Abuha bisher ausschließlich über Spenden (aus erster Crowdfunding Kampagne und Abuha Party), eine kleine Förderung und etwas Eigenkapital finanziert, da unsere Hochschule leider kein Budget zur Verfügung stellen kann und wir bei großen Förderungen keine Chancen haben.

Aktuell fehlt es uns leider wieder an Geld, um den Film fertig zu stellen, da die ursprünglich kalkulierten Kosten durch die Einwirkung der Inflation sich mittlerweile fast verdoppelt haben. Somit sind wir auf Eure Hilfe angewiesen!

Abuha (alt germ. Verkehrtheit, Böses) ist eine skurrile und düstere Liebesgeschichte aus der heutigen Zeit, bei der Tradition, Glaube und Aberglaube gegenübergestellt werden.

Ein junges Paar begibt sich in die Flitterwochen an die Ostsee. Lena ist aufgrund der konservativen Erziehung ihrer Eltern noch Jungfrau. Dante, ein italienischer Zahnarzt, kann das erste Mal mit seiner Frau kaum erwarten. Nur leider kommt immer wieder etwas dazwischen. Ein sektenartiger Hexenzirkel ist ebenfalls an Lena interessiert. Es folgen psychedelische, blutrünstige Rituale einer vermeintlich verschwundenen Gesellschaft.

Wir glauben, dass der Genrefilm in Deutschland unterrepräsentiert ist und vor allem in der Horrorszene enormes Potenzial steckt. Neben guter Unterhaltung und spannenden Momenten, sind auch Aussagen zu aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen möglich. Auch wenn es sich vielleicht nicht direkt danach anhört, ist das Narrativ des Filmes hochaktuell. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf AußenseiterInnen in der Gesellschaft und es wird ein feministischer Blick auf Partnerschaft, Zusammenhalt und Vielfalt geworfen.

Wohin fließt das Geld?

Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass Filme eine große Menge Geld kosten. Unser Produktionsteam vollbringt natürlich die in ihrer Macht stehende Magie, die Ausgaben so gering wie möglich zu halten. Mit eurer Unterstützung haben wir aber die Möglichkeit, mit Abuha einen Film zu erschaffen, der euch ein breites Lächeln auf die Münder zaubern wird.

Hello :) Most of us are students and graduates of the film course "Screen Based Media" at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. Since the beginning of 2022, we have been working on the 90-minute film Abuha with passion and great fun alongside our studies and work and are already looking forward to the completion of the movie.

Currently, we have just over half of the film and would like to finish it this summer. Our goal is to make a film that is ready for the cinema and that can also convince festivals in terms of quality. We are also striving for a new kind of horror film that addresses socially critical themes.

With this project, we also want to show that you can achieve a lot with few means. So far, Abuha has been financed exclusively through donations (from the first crowdfunding campaign and Abuha Party), a small grant and some equity capital, as our university unfortunately cannot provide a budget and we have no chance with larger grants.

Unfortunately, we are currently short of money again to finish the film, as the originally calculated costs have almost doubled in the meantime due to the effects of inflation. So we are dependent on your help!

Abuha (old germ. wrongness, evil) is a whimsical and dark contemporary love story juxtaposing tradition, faith and superstition.

A young couple embarks on a honeymoon to the Baltic Sea. Lena is still a virgin due to her parents' conservative upbringing. Dante, an Italian dentist, can hardly wait for the first time with his wife. Unfortunately, something always comes up. A cult-like coven of witches is also interested in Lena. Psychedelic, bloodthirsty rituals of a supposedly vanished society follow.

We believe that genre film is underrepresented in Germany and that there is enormous potential in the horror scene in particular. In addition to good entertainment and suspenseful moments, statements about current social developments are also possible. Even though it may not sound like it directly, the narrative of the film is highly topical. The focus is on outsiders in society and a feminist look is taken at partnership, cohesion and diversity.

Where does the money go?

It's no secret that films cost a lot of money. Our production team, of course, does the magic in their power to keep expenses as low as possible. But with your support, we have the opportunity to create a film with Abuha that will put a big smile on your face.
