I am raising money to aid a brother from the security industry who was a victim of a vicious assault and hate crime.

***Be advised the following story may alarm***

Abukar (Abs) was working as a door supervisor at a venue in Essex. A venue he had worked at previously for a period of time and was well respected and liked by customers and the management.

Abs and a colleague ejected a male from the premises for a reason that need not matter or need explaining. There was no contact, no abuse or nothing untoward from the security’s side.

He was then told in words to the effect of the male who committed the crime would come back and kill him. Abs’s religion was also mentioned at this time. Abs didn’t know this male and didn’t declare his religion to him. He said this based on the colour of his skin and his ethnicity.

Around two hours later the male returned, armed with a sharp implement, believed to be a cut throat razor and whilst Abs was talking to customers and management cut Abs’s throat. This caused the jugular vein to be cut and Abs’s to start profusely bleeding.

Abs’s was taken to hospital for life saving surgery and blood transfusions. Abs was placed in an induced coma and placed in the intensive care unit.

The male who committed this crime was caught and taken into police custody and has since been charged with racially aggravated public order and attempted murder.

Abs has since come around and been brought out of the coma and is thankfully on the mend.

Abs recovery time is unknown, however to support him, show love and care from the security industry in his recovery and to support his family whilst he isn’t working.
