Abuk Bol Graduation Gifts/Fundraiser
Ramah High School, Ramah, New Mexico - Graduation May 18, 2018
Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona - Starting Fall 2018
Intended Major: Psychology
Between my father, who is a first generation immigrant from South Sudan, my American born mother and Native-American step-father, I have thirty-seven aunts and uncles on four continents and across the U.S.
Unfortunately, this means I will not have the pleasure of kissing my great grandmother's cheek or singing at the top of my lungs with some dear cousins. However, as I place my hands to my heart and flash my megawatt smile, (wink-wink) friends and family may still share in my graduation celebration by sending a monetary gift which can of course NEVER fill the void caused by your absence. (More winks followed immediately by bigger, shameless smiles causing serious squinting). Okay, that was funny, but it makes me sad, because I really would rather have you guys here in New Mexico to at least pinky hug. (tears)
Funnies (and tears)aside, I will attend Grand Canyon University in the fall of 2018 majoring in psychology. I then plan to obtain a masters in psychology leading to a career as a professional counselor. Based on academic achievement, I was awarded the 4-year Provost Scholarship kick starting my dream.
I am a member of the National Honor Society, yearbook editor and played volleyball during all four years of high school.
Please accept my heartfelt and sincere thanks for your gift in ANY amount. I will use your valuable gift toward remaining college cost, fees to join the collegiate club volleyball team and any remaining funds towards travel abroad.
Please share.
