ABUSED AND NEGLECTED DAISY
Hi, my name is Sam and I’m trying to raise money for Daisys urgent Vet Treatment.
I have recently just had surgery and am currently off work for 6 months. I decided I wanted to get a dog another baby to join our family as I haveall the time in the world at the moment to devote to a dog and settle them in properly.
I came across daisys advert online - she was advertised being a healthy two year old female golden retriever looking for a forever loving home. I got in contact and arranged to meet her owner. When I arrived after a 3 hour car journey, he wouldnt give me an address just a postcode and told me to meet him at the park. After having a look at daisy I noticed she was far from healthy and was desperate for my help.
She was advertised for £2000 and I very reluctantly paid for her as I was worried about her welfare and where she would end up. Her owner was brutally honest with me and said that he needed money and so he got her imported from Hungary and she was pregnant with 11 puppies. His intentions were to have some puppies and then get rid of her, which is exactly what has happened. Daisy came from the streets in Hungary and has never lived in a home or been shown love. She is very scared, and the slightest movements or noise make her flinch.
When I got her home I noticed that her condition was worse than I initially thought. She looks to have some bad tumours on her tummy, along with very severe ear infections that are oozing with discharge, her teeth are so bad they are ground down to the gums. This poor girl has what looks like 30+ cigarette burns across her body, full of mites and her hair is falling out in clumps. She looks to have suffered some sort of trauma to her face as she has a scar on her eye and it looks like she is partially blind. Being an experienced dog owner I am worried that she has pyrometra (a womb infection) as she has a lot of bloodydischarge coming from her vagina and her nipples are very swollen and deformed.
She is going to the vets today, however I have very little funds to pay for all the treatment she is needing. I have just had an operation and used all of my savings to buy daisy. Ihave insured her, however due to her injuries and conditions I am unable to claim on her insurance as they are classed as pre existing conditions and can’t be claimed for at least 14 days. I have spent all day calling round my area, speaking with local rescues and pet charities to see if anyone can help her but had no luck as I’m out the catchment area. I have reported her owners to the police and rspca who have taken this very seriously and they are undergoing investigations.
Please help if you can, even if it’s just £1, the more help I get the more treatment she can have. She is such a beautiful girl and deserves to be loved. I want to give her a forever loving home and show her that not all humans are bad. I’m hoping I can get her trustback and transform her into the happy doggy she should be. If you cannot help financially, please share this on social media to help spread the word. Any money donated fordaisy will be used against her vetinary bills and training classes to help socialise her and give her the best chance of life. We want to get her all the medication she needs, antibiotics, and to get her spayed along with some blood tests and any further treatments needed or ongoing treatments
Thank you so much for all your support!
Love Sam & Daisy xx
UPDATE: Daisy has just been checked by the vet. She has a skin infection that may require lifelong treatment, she also will need to be spayed, and her mammoth gland tumours will need to be removed over the next few weeks. The vet thinks she is about 4-6 years old and not 2. She also thinks she has had a few litters of pups in the past. She has given us some medication to treat her earinfections, and some shampoo for her skin infection. We are going back next week for another check up. We will need a further prescription for her ear infections and will get her vaccinations done again. The good news is that she hasn’t been stolen and her microchip is legit.
