Heart Transplant
Donation protected
2017 I was diagnosed with idiopathic viral cardiomyopathy. I have worked diligently with multiple medical organizations and staff. I have changed my life in many ways. In October 2023, I was hospitalized for the 4th time since moving to Florida in 2022 with 2 more hospitalizations to follow (6 total). Since then, I have had increasing declining health and ability to do daily tasks, such as stairs and walking long distances. My ejection fraction plummeted to 10% and my pressures were around 34 in my heart. This is catastrophic heart failure of both the left and right side. My last hospitalization was in January and I was then transferred to another hospital February 10th 2024 where I spent 8 days in ICU. My liver and kidneys were shutting down at this point and I couldn’t breathe. The healthcare team stabilized my pressures and we came up with a new plan as medicine is no longer working and long term interventions were running out. March 11, 2024 I had surgery and an internal defibrillator was placed and I have been actively undergoing testing for transplant workup. I am out of work and don’t have full use of my left arm. April 3, 2024 I received a phone call that I have been approved for heart transplant. Pending my next appointment, I will be on the list for this incredible life altering procedure. I am asking for financial help at this time due to losing employment at the end of January to offset the over $118,000 of medical bills already incurred, but also my private insurance since losing employment, my mortgage and other bills. Anything at this point will help as I almost regret having to do this…. Feel free to share even if it’s just awareness of heart failure. Fingers crossed and staying optimistic. I will answer any and all questions. Thank you for reading this far and your consideration.
