#22SOS
One person a day. One $22.00 donation.
22 days.
That’s all I ask.
I was nominated for the 22 Pushup Challenge last year by my Battle Buddy. I was in no way ready to accept this mission at that time. In the meantime I witnessed many of my friends complete this challenge. Not being one to by-pass a commitment I am now ready to move forward with this. However, I have stepped it up a notch. I have challenged myself to raise money for this awareness campaign as well.

I want my pushups to mean something more. Look at The ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” for example. That organization went from 23.5 million in 2013 to $115 million in 2014 because the participants also took a pledge to donate funds in conjunction with dumping water on themselves. Where is that commitment for #22KILLS? Awareness doesn’t do much. We all know this problem exists. Now what?
I don't want to focus on who is gone. I want to focus on who is left. I am calling this campaign #22SOS to act as a rescue beacon. I want to make a difference. I want you having to suffer through 22 days of my video postings to have a true effect. Because of that I have selected Disabled American Veterans ( https://www.dav.org/ ) as my charity of choice. DAV is a leading nonprofit charity that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families. This organization helps more than a million veterans each year in a positive, life-changing way. I have set up this GOFUNDME account so all donations will go directly to DAV. While you will get the tax write off, I get to beat my face. Everybody wins. HOOAH!
