The Ruth Rudawski Glen Helen Accessibility Fund
My late mother, Ruth Rudawski, was a true lover of Glen Helen. I will never forget when, in her later years, even though she was still phycially able to use her walker, mom said "Let's Go to the Glen!" and I had to tell her it was not an option due to a lack of accessibility. For far too long, persons (like mom and any others with mobility challenges) have not had the option to enter the Glen to see the birds, the trees, the wildflowers; to breath fresh air, to walk amongst nature.
Good News! That is going to change! In honor of my mother, I invite you to please join me in supporting the Glen Helen Association Accessibility Project. The Glen Helen Association is applying for the Ohio Public Works Commission for Clean Ohio Conservation grant funds to make improvements to Glen Helen Nature Preserve including the accessibility project. They will still need 25% of the costs that will need to come from local donations.
The Accessibility Project would give access from St Rt 343, visitors will have ample parking, rest rooms, a path allowing all persons, no matter their limitations, aceesibility to the East side of the Glen.
Please consider donating if someone you care for or you (now or in the not so distant future) treasures the Glen, but rely on this project to come to fruition in order to be "At one with Glen" (as my mom would say).
Thank You
Linda Rudawski
