Accessible housing and a forever home

Hi! My name is Lauren and together with my supported living we are trying to fundraise for a downpayment on an accessible home that nobody can take away. In the past 4 years alone I’ve moved 8 times which is incredibly stressful for anyone but especially someone who’s autistic and disabled like me. I’ve lived in my current home for just over a year which is the longest I’ve lived anywhere in the past 7 years after being in the care system and mental health system since I was 15. However the landlord is unfortunately selling the property so I have no choice but to move again. Our goal is to find a bungalow close to my family and support system that is accessible so that I can be more independent. My boyfriend or support worker currently have to drag my electric wheelchair up and down stairs to get it in and out of the house which means that when they’re not around I’m often stuck inside. As working is out of the question and saving hasn’t been successful due to medical expenses, Our goal is to raise 15,000 through crowdfunding, donations and fundraising so that we can put down a downpayment on a bungalow and I can finally feel secure and be more independent in a home that nobody can take away :)
