Accidental loss of FV Carisma INS 1037

Donation protected
I'm setting this page up to help out our dear friend and fellow fisherman Kirk Doig and his young family in their hour of need.
Kirk departed Pittenweem in his vessel Carisma on the morning of 15th November for a day's prawn fishing but within minutes of leaving the harbour the propeller became fouled on creel rope which in turn lead to the engine stopping. A frantic effort was made to free the boat and regain power but this was to no avail as the vessel was washed up on the rocks by the wind and motion. Kirk and his crewman were rescued by the Anstruther Lifeboat but unfortunately the Carisma sunk and was eventually smashed up and washed ashore in bits.
I ask in what has been a horrible year for everyone if you can spare anything however big or small in order to help this young family over their hardship in the coming days and months until they can get themselves back on their feet.
The Carisma was not only his Pride n Joy but it was his life's work so far, and we can only hope Kirk will bounce back bigger and stronger.
When lockdown began Kirk pulled some strings to make sure the community were getting locally caught prawns.
Taking in orders, catching to order then delivering door to door which was shortly noticed all up and down the country.
Kirk is the most determined fisherman we’ve ever met. Carisma has been his pride and joy - he put his heart and soul into her in the 5 and a half years he’s had her.
This was not only his job this was his whole life and hobby.
