Ace Needs Your Help-Support Canine Rehabilitation

Ace’s story:
Ace is a approximately 7 year old Malinois, who has endured a lifetime of neglect and abuse at the hands of humans. Despite the trauma he's experienced, he hasn’t given up and that is a testament to his strength. Our understanding is he was used for breeding countless litters, then discarded and left to suffer in a drug den as a guard dog . Kept outside on a chain with no shelter, Ace’s days were filled with loneliness and pain. We may never fully understand the extent of the cruelty he endured, but it's clear that he was treated with utter disregard.

Ace's suffering only came to light when nearby construction workers reported the neglect to the RSPCA. Tragically, he was initially scheduled for euthanasia until a rescue stepped in and placed him in the loving care of Debbie.

Ace has been under the care of rescuer Debbie for several weeks, but he's still struggling to adjust to his new surroundings. Living in survival mode, Ace is understandably anxious and exhibits erratic behaviours as he tries to cope with the trauma he's endured.

Ace’s anxiety is particularly evident when he hears the gate or someone approaching. He'll often hang from wooden beams or body slam into people.
When outdoors, Ace can become destructive, chewing on trees or his ball as a coping mechanism. These behaviours are all signs of stress and an overactive nervous system. Living in this constant state of anxiety will be exhausting for him.

The mission: Project Ace

While Debbie is a dedicated rescuer who has helped countless animals, her resources are already stretched thin caring for other dogs with specialist needs. Ace’s complex trauma requires a more individualised approach, including one-on-one support.
We have a unique opportunity with a space available at The Wolf and Dog Development Center.

At The Wolf and Dog Development Center, we believe in the power of relationship and connection to foster emotionally and socially balanced animals. Our unique approach, is rooted in understanding the developmental needs of dogs and wolves.

The Hemene Approach is a developmental approach that focuses on nurturing relational connections for animals to thrive. By understanding their natural behaviour’s and needs, we can help them develop into well-adjusted and confident individuals.
Our Team

* Mark Wade: is an active member of German Shepherd Rescue with extensive hands-on experience in canine rehabilitation. His dedication to helping dogs in need is evident in his compassionate care for the animals under his care.

Here a team of dedicated behaviourist can provide Ace with the time, commitment, and resources he desperately needs.
We're fundraising to facilitate Ace’s transport ,one to one care and rehabilitation. He will be our sole focus, ensuring he receives the individualised attention he requires for a chance at a peaceful life.

Sadly, many dogs displaying severe stress and behavioural issues are euthanised or left in kennels for long periods due to a lack of resources and funding. We're determined to ensure that doesn't happen to Ace.

Your support will allow Ace to receive the individualised care and attention he needs. Isolation will only exacerbate his problems. With your help, we can provide him with the one-on-one support he desperately needs to recover and thrive.

Ace’s incredible resilience is a testament to his spirit. Despite the horrors he's endured, he's still standing strong. He's a truly special dog, and we're determined to give him the life he deserves. Unfortunately, many dogs in need don't have the same chance. This project could be life-changing for Ace. He's a fighter, so let's join him in the fight and provide the support he so desperately needs.
