Ace the Specialized High School Entrance Exam!
Tax deductible
Only seven percent of students accepted into specialized high school are black or Hispanic. This low rate is not acceptable. We believe that these students can excel in such exams. What they are missing is resources that help them prepare.
Want to join me in making a difference? Kweller Prep Tutoring and Educational Services is raising money to benefit the First in Family Fund Inc, an educational nonprofit, and any donation will help make an impact to help increase the number of minority student placement at Specialized High Schools.
The specialized high schools are known as the crown jewels of NYC. They include Stuyvesant, Bronx, Brooklyn Latin, LaGuardia, Staten Island Tech, York, and HSME Lehman. A STEM education can be a key to success and we are asking for your help in fundraising programs to sponsor students into test prep.
Entrance into a specialized high school requires passing the Specialized High School Entrance Exam (the SHSAT), and often requires months of rigorous test preparation. At the current time, students who pass this challenging exam are disproportionately not from predominately Black or Latinx communities.
Although Black and Hispanic students represent 70% of all NYC students, they account for less than 1% percent of the accepted students at Stuyvesant High School. See the NY Times Article Here
We want to change the narrative.
Kweller Prep (Website: KwellerPrep.com) is an established supplemental education company that offers targeted classes for the SHSAT. After helping thousands of students exceed the cut off the specialized high school over the years, Kweller Prep has developed a formula for success: regular and rigorous test prep for one year and two summers, starting the summer after 6th grade ends (the actual SHSAT is on October of 8th grade).
Kweller Prep can change the narrative.
Our private company has created a nonprofit division, called the First in Family Fund (FIFF) , as registered NYS and NYC Charity. and is now seeking donors to help sponsor 100 Black and Latinx students into our program per year.
We need your help. Donors can sponsor one semester, one summer, or just a few weeks of test prep. Any amount will help. Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause.
