Achilles needs tail amputation

Donation protected
Achilles needs his tail amputated.

Diagnosis: Separated Sacrum (severed tail at base of spine).

Prognosis: Very good with tail amputation.

What happened:

One night, he didn’t come home as usual. “My kids cried themselves to sleep after we prayed for his safe return”. After 3 days, Achilles returned but he was badly injured. He was having trouble walking  and his tail was dragging on the floor. He also had a huge lump towards the end of his spine. He was crying, unable to poop and had no control over his bladder.

Achilles owner sold tamales to raise money to pay initial vet costs for pain meds, antibiotics and X-rays.

The video, you can see his tail dragging.

His story: Achilles is an 11 month old cat, a loved family member and a survivor!

Achilles (Greatest of all Greek warriors) was found in a parking lot during the 2021 winter storm. He was malnourished and had an eye infection. He was barely a week old. He was syringe-fed until he could eat on his own.

At 5 month old, Achilles got very sick and went to the ER. His family went back to syringe feeding until he recovered!

About the funds: Goal is set to cover all costs related to his tail amputation, neuter, follow-up, pain meds, gofundme fees and post-op supplies.

Achilles will live as an INDOOR ONLY cat from now on.

As always, this campaign site will be updated throughout the journey.
