Acid Dad & Greenway Studio Flooding Fund
The basement housing the Greenway Records office and studio shared by Brooklyn bands Acid Dad and Programmique experienced extreme flooding in Ridgewood on Wednesday night, 9/1, in the flash flood brought on by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Greenway Records founder Harry Portnof and the gang waded through waist deep water to retrieve what they could - seven water-logged guitars and two dripping keyboards.
The doors to the office and studio rooms are being held shut by the water pressure so we don't know what to expect on the other side of those doors. The first step is removing all the water from the main basement hallway (which they have been working on doing all day). After that, they will be able to enter the studio room and the office to truly assess the damage.
We're not sure what all has been lost yet but it's likely going to be devastating for Greenway Records and the bands.
Luckily they were insured. However their losses will likely far exceed the settlement. Plus they will likely need to relocate due to the damage and the possibility of this happening again.
Any help is appreciated. We know it's been a rough year and a half for everyone.
We will keep you posted here with updates.
**9/3 UPDATE**
At this point, it looks like everything has been lost.
The office is a shared space which houses Brooklyn's Greenway Records and Austin's Levitation & The Reverberation Appreciation Society label. I work with Harry out of the Greenway office and started this fundraiser to help him and the bands, who will be receiving 100% of the money raised.
