TPLO surgery for Zeya

hi, my name is amber! My pups name is Zeya. She is a 3 year old german shepherd mix! Currently zeya is in need of TPLO surgery on both of her back legs. She has her first surgery scheduled for next week.

 

Over the past 6 months to a year i have noticed zeya has started to have problems with her back legs. She is hesitant to sit and pushes she knees outwards when she does. I also started to notice inflation/ large bumps and the inside of her knees. A few times she has had a limp but walked off in a fee hours or day so we didn’t think too much of it. But i noticed more and more of her trying to hold her right back leg up after running or walking. Then i started to hear a popping sound when we went of walk from her knee, the i knew something was seriously wrong. We have been to two different vets for answers, thankfully the second vet we went to was AMAZING! They explain everything to me and all of our opinions, the best being surgery. I would explain everything the vet told me but it was hard for even me to comprehend but she will basically need TPLO surgery. The surgery cost between 3,000-5,000 for each leg. Her right leg is worse then the left, already having some arthritis. Without this surgery Zeya will develop severe arthritis over the next few years.

 

Ive had Zeya since she was 10 weeks old. She is my best friend and has been with me through so much. We do everything together from hikes, swimming, car ride and traveling to cuddling and napping together! She is such a goofy rambunctious pup who absolutely love run and swim. She has been my rock through all the ups and downs and i couldn’t imagine life without or cut short. I want her to live her best pup life to the fullest potential!
