Justice For Jayland Walker

Donation protected
On June 27, Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Akron resident, was shot and tragically killed by officers of the Akron Police Department as they pursued him for a minor traffic violation. Jayland was unarmed at the time of this attack by eight Akron police officers and handcuffed after he was shot.

An Akron native, Jayland was a kind and peaceful soul with aspirations of starting his own business. He was a standout wrestler at Buchtel High School in Akron, where he graduated in 2015, and worked for Amazon before taking a job as a DoorDash driver. Jayland was engaged to be married until his fiancé tragically died in a car crash last month.

Jayland’s family is experiencing the horrific loss of a loving son, brother, nephew. He was brutally taken from us. In the coming days, we will need to pay for many unexpected expenses. The Akron community has already shown an outpouring of love and concern for the Walker family, for which we are humbled and grateful. Please consider showing our family continued support by donating to and sharing this GoFundMe page during our time of need. This account has been created by Jayland’s sister Jada.

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and continued love and support for this family as they continue to seek peace, dignity, and justice for Jayland.
