Acquiring a Violin for my Professional Career

As you may know, I have been playing violin for over 13 years and graduated from Lebanon Valley College in May, 2020. I received a BA in Music (Violin Performance and Music Theory), a BA in Music Business, and Departmental Honors with my research in Music Performance Anxiety and Musician Wellness. The past 6 years, my income has solely come from my job as a self-employed musician teaching private lessons for violin, viola, and cello, as well as a variety of performing gigs. My greatest dream is to perform in a professional orchestra and I have been sure of this since the seventh grade. I would love to go to graduate school to obtain a masters degree in Violin Performance, which is required to be offered a position in an orchestra.
However, I have had the same violin since fifth grade, a factory-made student model that I have outgrown years ago. Playing on a good instrument is essential for a career in music, but a violin is very expensive. Thus, the reason why I am currently playing on an instrument that is unable to meet the demands of the advanced repertoire I am learning. Auditions for orchestras are highly competitive during which I am compared to musicians from around the world for a single position.
A good violin will allow me to expand tone colors, play a wider range of dynamics, have more control, more consistency in tone, express my intentions and emotions more clearly, and overall perform more effortlessly. I am currently playing on a slightly better violin borrowed from my college. However, after this semester, I won’t have access to this violin anymore.
On top of student loans, and living more independently, it is extremely difficult to save up enough money for a violin. This is why I am humbly asking for a donation towards my violin fund. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. Please, support me in pursuing my passion for music and reaching my dreams.
