Act 39: Let's Take the Show On The Road!

Rob Mermin's play "Act 39" is a soulful, humor-filled story of friendship, and exposes the vulnerability of the human spirit when facing mortality head-on. On the heels of its world premiere sold-out run at Haybarn Theater in 2023, Highland Center for the Arts & Cavan Meese aim to bring this acclaimed play to audiences across Vermont in 2024, and need YOUR help to get the show on the road!
All donors will be invited to a special reception at the run's opening night at the Highland Center for the Arts on 8/29/24, at which a talkback to include Patient Choices VT www.patientchoices.org, is also planned. Shows are expected to run:
- 8/29-9/1 at Highland Center for the Arts, Greensboro
- 9/5-9/8 at Main Street Landing, Burlington
- 9/12-9/15 at venue TBC
Donny Osman and J.T. Turner are reprising their roles as Bill & Rob, and Rob Mermin himself will be co-directing this run with J.T.! Open auditions for the two additional roles are at Kellogg-Hubbard library in Montpelier on 5/25/24, 10:15am-1pm.
About the Playwright:
Rob Mermin is the founder of Vermont’s Circus Smirkus. He ran off to join the circus world in 1969 and toured with circuses throughout Europe, Scandinavia, and the former Soviet Union, after training in the art of mime with life-long mentor Marcel Marceau. Rob’s awards include Copenhagen’s World Star-Time Gold Clown; The Bessie Award; Russia’s Best Director Prize at The International Festival on the Black Sea; The Lund Center’s It Takes a Village Award; the Vermont Arts Council Award of Merit, and the 2008 Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts. www.RobMermin.com
