Acting Out Against Cancer is a nonprofit corporation with a mission to provide support and encouragement for individuals and their families facing the challenges of cancer. We provide Bravery Bags for hospitalized patients and those undergoing treatment.
AOAC wants everyone to know that we've got your back! Bravery Bags are full of comfort and encouragement for both patients and caretakers in their battle against cancer. Whether newly diagnosed or the long standing fighter, these bags are designed to bring extra encouragement and a little reminder that no one is alone.
Inside of Bravery Bags you will find items to make hospitalization or treatment a little more bearable.
- Courage Card (Words or encouragement handwritten from survivors and those still in the fight)
- Moisturizers for skin and lips
- No-Slip Socks
-Lemon/Ginger Teas, Water Flavor Enhancers and Candies (to help with nausea that might be caused from treatments)
- Biotene Mouthwash (to help with dry mouth and sores from chemotherapy)
- Travel Tums and Tylenol
- Notepad & Pen
- Sleep Masks and Earplugs (hospitals are not always quiet or dark. These items can help provide rest)
- Deck of Cards
- Snacks (Protein packed snacks to nibble on)
- Food Gift Card (local restaurants)
- Gas Gift Card (traveling to and from appointments and treatments is pricey. Fill up on us)
