Activists Against HS2 Prisoner Support Fund
Donation protected
This fund has been set up to support Anti-HS2 Activists who HS2 are trying to send to prison.
Your donations will go towards:
- Probation and bail costs: Travel costs from attending probation meetings and answering bail.
- Attending court cases: including hotels, travel, food and ensuring close friends can be there to support.
- Prison costs: commissary, phone credit and sending letters, emails and books to prisoners.
- Post prisoner support: making sure that when prisoners are released, they have something to go towards their travel home, food and a treat after their stay in prison.
Why is this fund needed?
The need for a prisoner support fund was first realised when Anti-HS2 Activist Dave Holiday was sentenced to a shocking 100 DAYS IN PRISON for breach of a HS2 injunction - his breach was no more than stepping on HS2 land. Since then, JellyTot has also been sentenced to 268 DAYS IN PRISON, which he is currently serving. We are determined to look after our activists - as they are subjected to brutal oppressions by the state and the prison service.
The situation has become even more urgent, now that HS2 have been granted a Route Wide Injunction through the civil courts which will mean anyone who steps foot on HS2 land is liable to a prison sentence of up to 2 years, fines and seizure of assets.
The growing punitive powers of HS2, and the courts willingness to enforce on HS2’s behalf, is utterly terrifying and is something we must fiercly stand against.
