Here we are. We are here. WE are rallying for Caryn. This is (only a piece of) her story and we are so grateful for it and her:
In 2013 Caryn was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
she underwent major surgery and chemotherapy.
She had been in remission two years and moving into puzzling what being a survivor meant to her in the context of being mother to a young daughter, Birth Doula, Community Passionist.
In late August, Caryn attended a white water kayaking trip in Tarkio Montana with 12 other young cancer survivors called FIRST DESCENTS. She accomplish things she never ever thought she could, and with grace and inner strength! While on the trip she struggled with some sciatica that had been poking around for a month.
A few days after returning she got re-diagnosed with cancer. There is a now a tumor in her pelvis that is wrapped around a major artery and her kidney pipe. As is so common with ovarian cancer it seems this tumor seeded with the original cancer in 2,013.
On the 31st of August she followed her oncologists recommendation to put a stint in her kidney to protect it from being compromised. One needs healthy kidneys to sort through the runoff of chemotherapy.
The numbers have been looking better and she has had a first round of chemo and is scheduled for a second on the first of October. This first round of chemo was a necessary first milestone in creating the canvas for recovery.
Caryn is juicing everyday, eating only organic clean food, engaging in alternative and complimentary medicines, and trying to cope with pain and discomfort from the tumor and chemo (on top of remaining as present as she can for her sweet daughter Hazel).
She needs our help.
These costs add up and we are all susceptible to taking on financial worry . As her community we want to put that out of the picture and support her be able to focus fully on her healing!
Let's rally for Caryn and her recovery! Every dollar makes her life easier and provides the peace of mind needed so she can be clear to remain present
and do her very best healing!
DEEPEST gratitude.
