If you know Matt & Sam Ellis you know that they are some of the most amazing people you will ever get the honor of knowing. Those who follow them on social media know that they are experiencing the unimaginable. On December 12th, the most precious baby, Adaline James Ellis, was brought into their lives.

"Shortly after birth, we became aware that things weren’t exactly “normal”. Our beautiful Adaline has been diagnosed with Lissencephaly, a very rare brain condition that causes the brain to be smooth rather than have normal bumps and folds. There are a wide range of things that our girl has struggled with. Her feet are clubbed (but she has the cutest little toes ever) & her middle fingers on both hands are contracted. Mainly, on the day she was born she had her first seizure. since then she has received numerous seizure medications in attempt to get the seizures under control. For about 5 days, we didn’t see much seizure activity. In those days, she was able to come off the ventilator, we were able to do skin to skin for the first time, we put clothes on her, and we got her to suck on a paci which we were told she wouldn’t be capable of. Last Wednesday, Adaline started having seizures again and since then they have gotten more frequent, last longer, and are very difficult to control even with 4 medications. She has been placed back on the ventilator while we tried to figure out a plan to move forward. She has had the best team of doctors fighting for her and we are so grateful for what they have done. On Monday, they informed us there isn’t more they can do. We are soaking up every single second that we have left with her. We never imagined we would be capable of loving someone as much as we do her. Please pray for us as we are preparing our hearts for the unimaginable."

Today, Friday, Dec 30th, Adaline was able to see the world for the first time. The doctors at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta made it possible for her to visit the garden, meet her doggie sister Georgia and had professional family photos taken - a day they will never forget.

As they prepare for this journey over the next few days please join me in supporting them. Adaline's sweet few weeks of life have been in hospitals doing every type of testing out there. Matt & Sam are needing support financially, and spiritually. Please pray for them, and their families. If you feel led, consider giving to them financially for countless hospital bills, time off work, food, and gas from going to and from the hospital for the past few weeks. Any bit counts!

Please join me in supporting them during the next few weeks in any way you can. There will be a meal train to come as well as updates to come.
