Adam and Kristen's IVF Journey
Donation protected
As some of you may know, Adam and Kristen have been trying to get pregnant for two years. After an extensive surgery, losing her left tube and an unexpected cancer finding (she is cancer free at the time!) IVF is now their only option. If you know Kristen, you know she would do anything for the people in her personal life, and for her patients as an RN. She is the last person to ask for help from those around her. So, I am reaching out to all of you in hopes that we can help lighten the financial stress of this costly procedure and help Adam and Kris, and Irin complete their family.
Kris also started the cutest etsy shop BibsBowsandBaby . Anything purchased from her shop will also go towards their IVF journey (she has a page on Facebook too if you can share!)
Any positive thoughts and prayers for Kristen and Adam during this time are so appreciated.
If you want to donate directly (as go fund me does take a percentage) you can contact Kristen or myself (Britney).
A little bit from Kristen on their experience so far:
After two years of trying to get pregnant, Adam and I were diagnosed with infertility. I was also having some pain I saw my OB for, thinking it might be a reason we weren’t getting pregnant. After an ultrasound or two, I was told surgery would be the best option to see what was causing the pain; we assumed it was endometriosis. The plan was a quick (less than an hour) procedure. The procedure quickly turned into over three hours and the endometriosis was “severe, and everywhere”. My left tube was irreparable and was removed. My Ob thought my appendix looked like it also needed to be removed so he called in a general surgeon to do an appendectomy. Thank god he did. What we didn’t expect was the diagnosis of a cancerous tumor that was on my appendix. I was told that not getting pregnant saved my life and because of how rare this tumor is, it is usually found late and will have already spread to other organs before it is found and treated. (Follow up scans are clear by the way, no treatment is necessary!) I have to repeat the scans and testing in 6 months, but the cancer I never knew I had, is gone!
Our most recent follow up with our fertility clinic told us IVF is our only option of conceiving at this point. Trying to get pregnant saved my life, and I’m going to keep moving forward on this journey to have a little one of our own. IVF, as we learned, is very expensive. We’re hoping to raise as much as we can towards the expenses of this long and hard procedure, that will hopefully bring us a child in the end.
