Help the Thompson Family as Adam's HD progresses

Donation protected
Adam was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease (HD) in 2020. HD is an inherited disorder that causes nerve cells in parts of the brain to gradually break down and die. The disease attacks areas of the brain that help to control voluntary (intentional) movement, as well as other areas. People living with HD develop uncontrollable dance-like movements and abnormal body postures, as well as problems with behavior, emotion, thinking, and personality. This disease is fatal and there is no cure at this time.

Adam’s HD has progressed significantly in the past 12 months and he can no longer work full-time. He will be reduced to part-time in August, at which that time he can apply for disability. The challenge with disability is that it takes 5 months to receive once he goes part-time. We want to help the family with their drastic cut in income for these 5 months as well as help pay for mounting medical bills.

Their three boys are still so young. This is such an unfair situation to them all and we really want to help them make lasting memories with their dad while they can. As the family begins to wrap their minds around what is happening, we would love to see them enjoy a vacation, or more, to just be together and embrace the good times. Every little bit will help make this happen.
