Adam Lung Eagle Scout Project Fundraiser

Donation protected
My name is Adam Lung, and I am currently a Life Scout (2nd highest rank in Boy Scouts) in Troop 532 out of Schererville, Indiana. I was in Cub Scouts from Kindergarten to 5th Grade, and since then, I have been in Boy Scouts. I am now a Senior at Lake Central High School and am 17 years old.

I am raising money to fund my Eagle Project. An Eagle Project is the final requirement to become an Eagle Scout. The project benefits the community and allows a Boy Scout to demonstrate leadership and project management skills.

I have decided to build Radio Flyer wagons and affix IV poles or an attachment for an oxygen tank or feeding pump. The completed wagons will be donated to hospitals in Chicagoland, including La Rabida Children's Hospital, Northwestern Medicine/Central DuPage Hospital, Community Hospital, and Saint Anthony Hospital. I reached out to several hospitals in Chicagoland and these are the ones who wanted the wagons.

If I can raise all of the funds, I will be assembling 15 wagons in total. I plan to donate 10 wagons to La Rabida, 3 to Northwestern, 1 to Community and 1 to Saint Anthony.  The cost is approximately $250 per complete wagon.

The wagons can be used by children who are going into surgery, who need to be moved to another room, or just to give some freedom to in-patient children. These wagons can reduce stress and allow for movement outside of their rooms. IVs, and oxygen tanks, make movement difficult for kids. So, a wagon is a good way for a kid to be more mobile while still being connected to an IV or tank. A wagon is a good choice because it is safe, easy to clean (hard plastic and stainless steel), and is fun for kids to ride in.

I chose this Eagle Project both because it benefits children and I want to have a career in the medical field.

When I told a mother in my Boy Scout Troop about my project, she commented that this wagon would have been amazing to have when her son (a fellow scout) was battling cancer as a young child.

I appreciate your support of my Project and look forward to delivering the wagons to the hospitals and helping in-patient kids.

If there are any extra funds, they will be donated to La Rabida Children's Hospital.

Thank you.
