Adam Thomas Muir

Adam Muir was a character so many loved. He was never one for material things and loved living life as care free as possible.

Adam lived all over Queensland and many would remember him from Mooloolah or Eudlo as a young man.

Adam moved to Townsville in the last few years of his life where he discovered scuba diving and fishing and many other adventurous activities that fulfilled his final days.

Adam went out fishing alone and his boat motor stopped working. He managed to make it to a small island 15 kms from the mainland where he made a call to friends asking them to come help him. Just like Adam always impatient he rang back his friends saying he would swim the 15kms to the mainland. He didn't make it and his body was recovered a few days later.

Adam had no biological children although I wonder how that happened haha. He had many serious long term relationships. He however, became a male figure for my children as they grew up with an absent father. He went to father's day events for their scouts and schools. He came to whichever state we were in to celebrate Christmas. He never wanted my children or anyone elses that he had become apart of their lives to go without. He was stubborn and pig headed and stirred me up as a kid like crazy. He was my hero, my best friend and my brother.

Please join us on the 12th of October 2024 to celebrate the life and love shared with the cheekiest, most ADHD man you'd ever meet and remember the laughter and tears and love that Adam Thomas Muir brought to our lives.
Adam has been cremated and his ashes brought down to the Sunshine Coast by two of his best friends who have made an amazing effort in keeping Adams wishes to how he would have wanted them.

When I drove off to Victoria two kids alone in a car I said to Adam as he begged me not to leave. "it's never goodbye Adam, its always see you soon bro." We never said goodbye to each other ever. "See you soon bro."

Funds will be used for the memorial service and costs for Adams travelling. His ashes will be brought to the Sunshine Coast and then returned to the reef he had found so much joy in his final years in far North Queensland.
