ABOUT THIS FUNDRAISER:
The family and friends of Adam Zani are establishing a memorial scholarship fund in his name at Tully High School in Central New York. The scholarship will support educational opportunities for students who share Adam’s lifelong passion for history, particularly military history.
ABOUT ADAM:
Adam Greer Zani, Petty Officer 1st Class, HM 1 (FMF - Fleet Marine Force) Independent Duty Corpsman, US Navy, passed away on October 1, 2019.
Adam graduated from Tully High School in 1997, where he was captain of the Tully football, wrestling and baseball teams. He had a comprehensive knowledge of and love for history, his great passion, from a young age. Adam won many awards and honors in that realm, including scholarships to the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College.
Adam attended St. Lawrence University, and then transferred to Union College, doing a term abroad in Ireland & England and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2001. He then attended Quinnipiac Law School in Hamden, Connecticut before joining the US Navy in 2008 and became a Corpsman.
Adam had two beautiful children, Clare and Aiden, whose own educational needs will be supported by the generosity of the US Navy. His family and friends wish to pass along generosity in Adam’s small hometown, where a well-placed scholarship can ignite a lifetime of learning and public service, as scholarships did for Adam.
YOUR DONATION:
Your donation will be held by Adam’s brother, Brett Zani, until sufficient funds are raised to create an endowed fund to be managed by a community foundation or similar entity. Funds will solely be managed by the family until that occurs.
