Adam's Kidney Donor Travel Fund

My husband Adam has been blessed with the chance to help out a friend by donating a kidney! We first found out that our good friend was going into kidney failure about a year ago. At the time he mentioned without hesitation that he would give his friend one of his if it came to that. Fast forward to Jan of 2020 and we are almost to the finish line. The first initial testing was to get a complete physical with blood work. Then there was a 24 hour urinalysis (yes, you pee into a jug for a whole day!) They then drew more blood to determine type and look for the markers needed to be a match.  Just before Thanksgiving of 2019 Adam got the call that he was a match for his friend, and the next step would be to travel to Seattle to the transplant center for a final round of scans and to meet the doctors on the transplant team. So on 30 Jan he will be in Seattle, along with his friend, to complete the final testing, and if all goes well they will schedule a surgery date! Note from Adam:  To see my friend have to go through the nightly dialysis, and hear him describe the pain because of it would have been enough to convince me to help him in any way I could.  This seemed like an easy decision way back when I first heard of his issues, and to this day I have never had any doubts about doing it.  How others can help: We are starting this fund to cover the travel expenses and the costs associated with the follow-up testing and doctor appointments. The actual surgery is covered by the recipient's insurance, but travel, hotels, and meals are all out of pocket for both Adam and his friend. Any donation would go to cover these expenses for both Adam and the recipient. We will happily take any prayers for safe travels and for everything to go smoothly with the surgery and recovery.
