In loving memory of Adam

In lieu of flowers:

While Adam is no longer suffering and has moved on to his victory in heaven, many medical expenses have accumulated. If you feel led in lieu of flowers to give in memory of Adam the family will gratefully receive your gifts. Thank you again for all of your prayers, love, and gifts. Below please find a short attempt at describing the person we all love and knew for the larger than life man he was.

Adam Cox began working with the Prince William County Fire Department in 2011 after a distinguished career serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. In his 8 years with the USCG Adam earned the rank of Petty Officer ( 2nd class) as an airman and served as part of the navigation team and personal detail for DC officials including former secretaries of homeland security Michael Chertoff and Janet Napolitano. Driven by the desire to serve and help others upon his release from the Coast Guard he was excited at the opportunity to become a firefighter in Prince William County joining the firefighter and rescue team as well as attaining his swift water rescue certification. After graduating from the fire academy class 11-1 he was assigned to Fire Station 24 and has served along side the brave men and women of that station up until his most recent cancer diagnosis.

Born in Lake Worth Florida, Adam grew up among his two siblings and parents showing a talent for music and athletics. He played soccer, hockey and football, eventually for Royal Palm Beach High where he would meet his soulmate and future wife Chelsea, the two married soon after graduation. They now reside in a loving home on a hill in the woods of Stafford, Virginia with their two children, three dogs, and several chickens. An adventurer to the core Adam has always enjoyed surfing, sailing, camping, and traveling. When not working at the fire house he could be found doing any of these as well as singing and playing guitar in his church Pillar Church of Dumfries, swimming in the backyard with his family, or just watching a movie on the couch with his sweet wife and kids.

As I'm sure you can pick up on from reading this, Adam is an all around exceptional man. He has always been treasured by his family and friends and been someone that you can laugh with, get advice from, and count on.
