Adam's Tiny Trax Wheelchair

Adam is almost 4 years old and was diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy from birth. His day to day life has been severely impacted by this condition and unfortunately he is not able to do the things a normal child would.

Adam cannot walk or sit upright without aid/support. He requires continuous around the clock care and support. Having outgrown his current push chair/ buggy which he has been relying on for the past 3 years has now become a big problem. He now requires an electric wheel chair 'Tiny Trax' which is not funded by the NHS.

Cerebral palsy is usually caused by a problem that affects the development of a baby's brain while it's growing in the womb. These include: damage to part of the brain called white matter, possibly as a result of a reduced blood or oxygen supply – this is known as periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).

Adam is not able to use a manual wheelchair as the left side of his body is effected by the condition; therefore not being able to use his left hand. We went for a demo of the Tiny Trax wheelchair (as pictured) for the first time and he was overwhelmed; it was joyful seeing Adam independent for the very first time. This chair will aid him with his mobility as we're currently having to carry him everywhere; this is becoming very difficult as he is getting older and heavier.

The electric wheelchair can be used both inside and outside the house.
Adam, will be able to use the chair at school and this will give him confidence in mingling with other kids and making new friends.

The funds raised will be used to purchase the Tiny Trax electric wheelchair.
This will help Adam live his life independently.
