Adaptive Van for Amari
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amari. I was born with an extra dose of special and extra personality too! I love people, music, books and laughing at jokes!
Although I'm usually a Happy person, 2018 was a very challenging year for me. I underwent a significant surgery, in hopes to help me walk again. Unfortunately, that surgery caused a host of additional complications. I not only suffered from reoccurring infections, but I also couldn't keep food down. At my weakest, I lost a total of 25lbs (down to 40 from 65) and was placed on an NG feeding tube. BUT...
...like one of my favorite books says! "She (I) persisted!" I continued to do my best and continued to smile even through all of the pain, weakness and struggles. Now I'm happy to say that I'm well on my way back to my presurgery weight! I just have one wish...
..i would really love a van that allows me to ride more comfortably, one that I do not have to curl/scrunch myself into and one that allows me to stay seated in my brand new wheelchair ;-). I hope to say goodbye to the toddler carseat for good and to be able to ride with my family as the big gurl I know I am. So to the person reading this...if you find it in your heart to help me reach this goal I'd be ever so grateful!! Although, nothing can be done about what happened from surgery, much can be done in my future. I've been notified of a van exactly like the one pictured above, just waiting for me and with your help I can be even one step closer to my goal.
Anything would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and God bless!
