Hello, you all know and love our youngest Addilynn, or if you know her she's "Addi Kay". Many of you know she is constantly sick and has been since birth. And when I mean sick I mean November 28: COVID RSV & INFLUENZA A December 28: INFLUENZA A January 10: Strep Throat
If you've got it, she's going to get it if you've been around her....BUT what many of you don't know is due to her being so sick, she has had many many....MANY tests, biopsies, blood samples, CT Scans, and even SURGERIES.

At the age of just 3 weeks old she had her first surgery...the muscle between her large intestine and her stomach was not developing the way it should....Pyloric Stenosis is what it's called so she had a pyloromyotomy and embilicalcord hernia repair surgery. Little did we know that was just the beginning. After that surgery at about 6 months of age, Addilynn started having night terrors and couldn't breathe in her sleep. Tested for epilepsy, and sleep apnea. It was doctors appointment after doctor appointment...all for every doctor just to say nothing is wrong. Ear infection after ear infection and Addilynn came to surgery number two....tubes and adenoids and epigastric hernia repair....3 months later tonsils and adenoids again...almost two years later and to many ear infections to count second set of tubes are placed 10/05/2022...

Just before that we were referred by her allergist, Dr. Kenneth Arnett up to the Luries Children's Hospital to see and immunologist since she kept/keeps getting so sick all of the time. He wanted to get to the bottom of it. We went to our first visit. The immunologist said nothing really on her end needs done but she will stay in the picture and referred us to pulmonology at Lurie. They did tests upon tests and blood work and biopsies of addilynns nose tissue for a genetic disease called PCD (Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia) come to find out she does not have it. They told us nothing more we can do for you really but we will stay in the picture now also, and referred us to ENT at Lurie. Dr. Lavin ENT at Lurie Children's Hospital. She ordered a CT Scan of Addilynns head and nose at the end of November. She first had us try a 3 week long antibiotic treatment (which didn't really help.) The CT Scan has shown that Addilynn has extensive sinus disease and is going to need another surgery. This time instead of it being right here at home we will have to go to Chicago.

James and I will not be able to work (amount of days are unknown- due to recovery) and we are just reaching out to see if anyone would be willing to help. Any amount helps. Most of all PRAYERS, PRAYRS HELP THE MOST!

I definitely wanted to make tell Addi's story....it's still progressing. And we don't have a date for the surgery yet. But I will update as soon as I know!

Thank you and much love!
Xoxo
