Addiscombe CC Covid-19 Appeal
Donation protected
Addiscombe Cricket Club has a great history . We were a founding member of the Surrey Championship and legendary players such as Jack Hobbs and Fred Trueman have played at Sandilands. Two of our members, Roy Swetman and Alan Butcher, have gone on to play for England.
Most importantly, for 154 years we have been a cricketing family. Thousands of young people have learnt the game at Sandilands and our adult teams have welcomed players of all standards.
Obviously our country faces massive challenges with the Covid-19 pandemic. We are deeply grateful for the NHS and all the key workers on the front-line of keeping us safe.
For us as a club, this will be the first time since the Second World War when play has been suspended. As with the whole country, we are unsure of when cricket will be able to start again.
Our Treasurer, Rob Maguire, manages our finances very well and we are reducing costs as much as possible. But obviously, having to cover key expenditure for the ground, whilst losing our main source of income from subscriptions, creates a significant challenge.
We know that many of our members will impacted by the Covid-19 situation with their jobs and income affected. We know that for many, times are tough.
So, with this in mind, we thought the best option was to start an appeal which any of our members, friends or anyone from the wider cricketing family who has been impacted by our fantastic club, could donate to as they are able.
We estimate that we need to raise £7,000 to ensure our financial health of the club. Please could all members consider what they could contribute so that we can secure the future of ACC?
Addiscombe CC has a great history. If we stand together at this difficult time, we can ensure we have a great future.
