Addisen & Colton's Bahamas Relief Fund
Donation protected
People in Northern Bahamas, including Grand Bahama and Abaco, desperately need access to supplies after their homes were devastated by category 5 Hurricane Dorian. The Red Cross has reported that people have lost their lives and as many as 13,000 homes may have been destroyed. Access to food and water have been compromised. Many organizations in the luckier portions of The Bahamas, including Nassau where we have a home, have mobilized to collect donations and take the supplies by boat and sea plane to the impacted islands.
Our family and friends in the United States have asked how they can help. Our children wanted to raise money so that we can personally go to the stores in Nassau to buy as many supplies as possible to donate for shipment to the impacted areas. We will be taking monetary donations from our family and friends and then using all of the money donated to buy water, canned goods, toiletries, flashlights, batteries, and baby supplies to bring to the New Providence Community Church who is coordinating a relief initiative. Any extra funds and supplies we will donate to the the Bahamas Red Cross. If you would like to donate directly to this organization, here is the link: https://bahamasredcross.org/donate/
We have not had a home in this country long, but we already feel a special place in our hearts for the people here. They have been so welcoming of us into their country and we feel privileged to call The Bahamas home. Please consider helping if you can. We will update this post with pictures as we make donations. Thank you!
