Addison Grace Varney

Donation protected
Addison Grace Varney is the newborn daughter of Savannah Anderson Varney and Dexter Varney of Matewan, WV. Addison was born on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 with multiple birth defects. These defects stem from an improper or incomplete closure of the neural tube during gestation. Addison's diagnosis is incomplete at this time pending results of genetic testing. What is known at this point is that Addison's brain does not have the "wrinkles" that it should and parts of her brain are smooth. Some pathways between her brain's hemispheres are blocked so that the communication between the halves is not happening as it should. These brain issues are causing Addison to experience respiratory problems. Her oxygen level and other vitals are unstable. She is fighting hard to live. In addition to these life-threatening conditions, Addison has a cleft lip and palate along with micrognathia, a small chin causing her tongue to block her airway.

Addison is currently in the NICU at CAMC's Women's and Children's hospital in Charleston, WV. In addition to medical expenses, her family is incurring expenses with travel. The Ronald McDonald house has thankfully provided a discounted rate for Savannah and Dexter. The family appreciates prayers for Addison Grace. If you feel led to help with expenses, that would also be greatly appreciated.
