Addison needs new wheels....

Donation protected
Addison is currently nearly out grown her wheelchair, but in order to get a new chair we need to get a wheelchair van. This is something that we had no idea even a year ago that we would need as she was walking some of the time, and was still smaller. But has no grown a TON very fast and we need a better chair to fit her needs.

We, at first, wanted to get a mini van and have it converted to a wheelchair van. That is something we could do, but once we started to look and talk to the people that do the conversion we realized that we would not fit in a mini van very well. We are a family of 5, and when they do the conversion they shift the back seat and you lose 3-4 inches of space. They take this space from the middle seat. Meaning it still has a seat belt but an average sized person will not fit well at all. So when we go place as a family and bring a PCA or nurse with we would have to shove 3 people back there then Addisons wheelchair would be right in front of them. Then adding her 02, feeding supplies, and suction it would mean we had to drive 2 cars to things so that we could all fit and be comfy as well as safe (wheelchair to the face in the event of a crash is not fantastic)

That led us to look into full sized vans. And what we realized is that that will cost so much. Almost not do able for us :/ But when I was talking with some friends about this they started talking and are now helping us with this fundraising project. And that is amazing because we NEED a van like this. So here we are again asking for help. We are so thankful and blessed to have the amazing support system we do, and we hope to one day be able to pay it all forward. Because Addison's life has been such a bittersweet adventure, learning how to help others AND to except help is so hard. But we are so blessed to have some pretty amazing people helping us make sure that we can meet all of Addison's needs even when we don't think we can.

The money will be used to buy a Ford Transit or Promaster full sized van as well as help pay some to the company that will add a wheelchair lift and tie downs to it.
