Addison's Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Addison Johnson, and I have taken on the honor of building a stage for the James D. Hoff Peace Officers Memorial to fulfill my Eagle Scout requirement of planning and leading an Eagle Scout Project.

The James D. Hoff Memorial is a memorial for all police officers that have fallen in battle. It was named after James D. Hoff, who was an undercover officer who died in the line of duty. In honor of him and his bravery, they built a memorial in his name, and every year in May the Hoff Memorial publicly acknowledges all fallen officers in Reno, Nevada, and all survivors that made it through their darkest day to serve this city once again.

Last year I visited the Hoff Memorial in May to observe and listen to the ceremony. Whilst there, I noticed that I could not see the speaker, nor the podium, at the front of the crowd. Naturally, this was due to the slope of the seating area. With this in mind, I came up with an idea to help their need.

Using the skills I have learned as a company commander for SSHS, and as the Lodge Secretary/Treasurer for Tannu Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, I will be leading a group of volunteers consisting of scouts and cadets alike to achieve my goal: to build a stage for the Hoff Memorial to raise their speaker and podium.

And I need your help to do this. Your funds will be put toward the project and the Hoff Memorial. These funds will help us buy materials, rent tools required for the project, and purchase supplies that will help our project.
