Addressing the Gap in College Access 4 HS Students
Donation protected
HELLO EVERYONE! My name is Michelle De La Cruz, and I'm a recent graduate from Roanoke College. I obtained my first post-undergrad job as a college adviser at the George Washington High School in Danville, VA. The position is part of a joint venture program between the University of Virginia and Americorps. The program is a public service program that seeks to "address the widening gap in college access for low income, first generation, and underrepresented students. Our mission is to increase the number of these students entering and completing higher education." I am so excited to begin my job and start helping the youth of my community and state. I wanted to do something UNIQUE and ESPECIALLY GENEROUS by creating my own scholarship that I will be awarding to deserving students at the high school I will be working at. With your help, I will be able to award hardworking students for obtaining their high school diplomas and furthering their education or post-secondary plans thereon. The more donations, the more students that can be awarded this phenomenal financial aid! If you know me, you know I love helping others. Here's your turn to do the same. Gracias :)
